Mechatronics course projects for use in Simulation Center

A senior-level technical elective for mechanical engineering and electrical engineering students has been offered annually. In the course, the students follow a traditional course structure and lecture following a textbook focusing on mechatronics. In parallel over the duration of the semester, interdisciplinary electrical and mechanical engineering teams are assimilated to perform and complete a project prototype of an electromechanical system for the additional course content. Several novel and innovative projects have been performed with this format including those for healthcare simulation which are summarized in this paper.
