A time synchronization method for inertial sensor and visual sensor

In electronic image stabilization technology, inertial sensor and visual sensor can be integrated into an organic whole, using inertial sensors to obtain the global motion vectors that are representation of the motion of the camera shake, and then realize the camera jitter suppression. However, the algorithm of time synchronization between inertial sensor and visual sensor and its accuracy is one of the key technologies that affected electronic stabilizing effect. In this paper, using the Newton interpolation method through the two kinds of inertial sensor and visual sensor data interpolation, and then through the specific model of minimum error matching the specified data segment matching, thus realize the time on the two data sets match. Experimental results show that this method has a good stability and high accuracy. This method can be applied in electronic stabilization technology effectively.
