Triple band notch UWB antenna array with EBG structure

In this paper, we propose a CPW fed triple band notch UWB antenna array with EBG structure. The major consideration in the antenna array design is the mutual coupling effect that exists within the elements. The use of Electromagnetic Band Gap structures in the antenna arrays can limit the coupling by suppresssing the surface waves. The triple band notch antenna consists of three slots which act as notch resonators for a specific band of frequencies, the C shape slot at the main radiator (WiMax-3.5GHz), a pair of CSRR structures at the ground plane(WLAN-5.8GHz) and an inverted U shaped slot in the center of the patch (Satellite Service bands-8.2GHz). The main objective is to reduce mutual coupling which in turn improves the peak realized gain, directivity.
