Design and implementation of printed strip collinear dipole array antenna for C band

In this paper, the design and development of four element printed flared dipole antenna for C band communication is presented. Printed strip flared dipole antennas are fabricated in the form of collinear array to produce high gain and Omni-directional radiation pattern. The C band includes wavelength of microwave used for long distance communication channels. Printed flared dipole antenna is designed in such a way that it improves the bandwidth and operates at narrow frequency band. The flared dipole antenna is designed with the substrate FR_4 of dielectric constant 4.6 for an array application. It is designed to form a collinear array. The array is fed by using suitable power divider network. The power divider is used to improve the isolation between the antenna array and the matching circuits of ports. The simulation is done using ADS. The antenna is desirable for radar application, with return loss of -21.8 dB at 4.5 GHz.
