Fault-tolerant predictive control for Hypersonic Vehicle in reentry phase based on SMDO

Due to the flight scale of Hypersonic Vehicle (HSV) is extremely large, the system must have strong nonlinearity, coupling, fast time-variability and also be sensitive to disturbance and fault. It is a big challenge for fault-Tolerant control. Therefore, a fault-tolerant control scheme, nonlinear generalized predictive control (NGPC) law combined with sliding mode disturbance observer (SMDO), which combined the robustness of sliding mode control and the upstanding dynamic characteristic of predictive control, is proposed to deal with actuator fault. Moreover, SMDO is applied to estimate the disturbance and the actuator fault, and the compensation adaptive law is deduced. Simulation results show that the flight control system has nicer control performance and robustness for partial actuator fault.
