Outage free techniques for overhead lines introducing rubber gloving into an REC

This paper reviews the way in which live line rubber glove working on the 11 kV overhead line distribution system, generally referred to as rubber gloving, was introduced into the SWALEC electric utility, UK. It considers current working techniques, safe practices and equipment used by other electricity companies, the risks involved and the need to consult with the UK Health and Safety Executive.
