Propulsion of dielectric particles inside hollow-core photonic crystal fibers

The efficiency of the optical propulsion of particles inside various waveguiding structures can be significantly enhanced in the regimes where resonant states are formed. It is shown that, similar to the case of waveguides with metal walls, the use of hollow-core photonic crystal fibers can potentially give rise to the appearance of large and highly frequency selective optical propelling forces on microparticles inside. The resonant forces can be used for power-efficient long-distance transport of particles.
