The influences of drawing with graphics software on children's cognitive development for ICASI 2016

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the use of computer graphics software would affect the elementary school children's cognition. For the purpose, the study carried out the children's painting task, observations and retrospective interviews. After that, a focus group was conducted to be the view points for interpreting the influences of drawing with graphics software may have on children's cognitive development. The main findings of this study for : 1. For Children the accuracy and handing are not intuitive using mouse, That caused children difficulties in drawing. 2. 1/3 tested children choose only one color corresponding from 51 colors showing children will in single-color judgment on object.3. Children of color learning model should meet the needs of its color cognitive development stage, It should be any color replaced by reset color using but not a single object in the corresponding color.4. Mobile drawing tools will be able to encourage children in contact with the observation of real objects.
