A web-based simulation system for traffic evacuation

To fully utilize local traffic evacuation simulation models for emergency management, in this paper, a web-based simulation system for traffic evacuation is developed. The system takes advantages of the combination of ontological representation and web service techniques. The system can provide customized task configuration and real time results visualization for geographically disperse emergency managers. Based on standard interfaces and service delivery, the system can also have capability to execute micro simulation automatically and even share calculated results with other models to perform further integrate analysis or application. Application case demonstrated that the system has significance on decision analysis for traffic evacuation management.
