Improving the pulse generator BOOST PFN to increase the amplitude and decrease the pulse duration of the voltage

This paper presents a design of pulse generator by applying a composition of pulse forming network (PFN) and boost converter (BC) to improve the voltage and the duration of the pulse. Conversion of PFN to BC becomes practical by series inductors and parallel capacitors using power electronic switches. In this process, the pulse generator temporarily acts like a voltage boost converter and increases the voltage level of the network capacitors uniformly. In this paper a new method has been presented to improve the value of the voltage and also to decrease the pulse duration. The Matlab software has been used to confirm the performance accuracy of this method, and then the simulation results are presented.
