Acoustic source reconstruction in magnetoacoustic Imaging

nano sized particles are widely regarded as a tool to study biologic events at the cellular and molecular levels. However, only a few imaging modalities can visualize interaction between nanoparticles and living cells. A new method of functional imaging method is presented in this paper. Magnetoacoustic imaging is capable of detection the presence and distribution of magnetic nanoparticles, which can detect diseases before the tissue structure has changed. We have done a simulation study of magnetoacoustic Imaging of magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles embedded in mimicking biological tissue. We demonstrated the ability to obtain the distribution of nanoparticles embedded in biological tissues with high imaging sensitive and resolution.
