Numerical analysis on load modulation in HF wireless power transfer using parallel line feeder

Load modulation has been proposed for secondary-to-primary communication in high frequency wireless power transfer using parallel line feeder. This paper investigates the impact of standing wave on the performance of the load modulation for three coupling schemes: inductive, capacitive and hybrid inductive-capacitive coupling. Numerical analysis shows that the modulation index dynamically varies with secondary position along the feeder if either inductive or capacitive coupling case. More importantly, numerical results indicate that hybrid inductive-capacitive coupling is capable of stabilizing modulation index against variation in secondary-position.
