The role of sampling rate in wavelet transform decomposition

In this paper main properties of discrete wavelet transform are considered. They could be applied to standard local signal types which are frequently used in mechanical and electromechanical systems. Frequency response characteristics of discrete wavelet filters are also reviewed. The results of this work give a good background for developing processing technique which could help to find an optimal sampling rate for the basic class of local signals.
