Network universities: Emerging demand of Indian education sector

The Network Universities is an emerging concept so far as educational collaboration is concerned. This type of collaboration provides a fast and better means for knowledge exchange between member universities [11]. With the help of this collaboration, universities can share their resources, services of research guide and expertise with each other [5]. Some of the countries like Australia and United Kingdom have already deployed this concept to increase quality of education and also to reduce the implementation of expensive devices through sharing them. The successful outcome of Network Universities motivates other countries especially those are facing the shortage of resources such as funds, staff and infrastructure for deploying this concept of providing essential education to all. Hence, this concept is also useful for developing countries like India as well as for under developed countries due to their shortage of resources. This Paper briefly elaborates the concept of Network Universities and its benefits in context with education sector. Besides this, the paper also describes the various obstacles it faces for the deployment of Network Universities in India for improving the quality of education.
