Identification of roll motions of ships in close turns for control under heel constraints

The paper deals with the question of limiting the roll angle of a ship within chosen margin while changing her course at the highest yaw rate. Direct close loop identification tests give values for roll and counter-roll main coefficients and allow to design control laws for the transient and steady phases of the turn.
