An FPGA acceleration system of exact helical CBCT image reconstruction

Helical Cone-beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) has been playing an important role in radiation therapy. In this paper, an FPGA acceleration system for imaging reconstruction using Katsevich algorithm is presented. Methods of optimization are proposed. It is shown that it spends less than 10% of the time on reconstructing a tomography in the field of view (FOV) in comparison with other software approaches for the proposed FPGA system.
