Multiple hypervisor based Open Stack cloud and VM migration

OpenStack, a cloud operating system which is open source, is enable to build public and private clouds. OpenStack rely on virtualization techniques offered by different vendors through their virtualization software. VMware, Citrix and Microsoft are primary vendors for such hypervisors. There are several Open Source hypervisors like KVM, Oracle's Virtual box also offers virtualization techniques that can be used in Open Stack environment to build public and private clouds. Applications running in virtual instances are required to run continuously to provide services to their users. Need of migration of these virtual machines with minimal downtime is one of primary aspect while building cloud services. This paper presents and deals with migrating virtual machines in multi hypervisor OpenStack environment. The benefit of multi hypervisor migration would lead to more flexibility.
