The development of IoT applications using old hardware equipment and virtual TEDS

This project aims at rendering more accurate the data provided by devices which are part of extended networks of sensors which do not always have Internet access. The present paper is describing the implementation of a complex system used for data acquisition and analysis. Our solution is composed of 54 data acquisition systems, which are geographically distributed over a large area. Also for standardising the system and to offer the possibility of extending current solution on another type of devices has been developed a module for interpreting and processing of Transducer Electronic Data Sheet (TEDS). Accessing the data is done via ModBUS wrapper. Also, integration of new devices can easily be done by implementing a new wrapper for that protocol without the necessity to rebuild the entire solution.
