Wireless backscatter communication using multiple transmitter scheme

Backscatter modulation is used for wireless data communication in multipath channels. A patch antenna is used as the tag and the antenna port impedance is altered using a source data that causes the back modulation of the radiated RF carrier in the channel. Multiple transmitter antennas are applied to reduce the forward channel fading. A new transmitter scheme based on the feedback from the backward channel is proposed that increased the RF radiation of the tag antenna and simultaneously optimized the received signal quality. The system performance is experimentally demonstrated by using software defined radio modules.
