Path loss characteristics at multiple frequency bands from 0.8 to 37 GHz in indoor office

Path loss characteristics in multiple frequency bands including microwave, low millimeter wave, and millimeter wave are analyzed on the basis of measurement results in an indoor office environment. It is clarified that the path loss exponents vary depending on the frequency and the floor height when Tx and Rx are placed on the same floor. A prediction formula is developed for the frequency characteristics of path loss exponents by using the measurement results and it is confirmed that it can predict measurement results more accurately than conventional formulas. In particular, it can improve the RMS prediction error of 3.7 dB in 37 GHz bands.
