Prediction of electromagnetic scattering from metasurfaces

Starting from reflectarray principles, we derive a formulation to readily predict the electromagnetic scattering of a metasurface when illuminated by an incident plane wave. Examples are shown to illustrate the range of validity and accuracy of the formulation. The formulation provides a quick means of predicting the major scattering of a metasurface.
