Distributed planning and design of production systems

Production systems planning procedures generally detail vague information, which implicates sequential planning, employing top-down or bottom-up systems techniques. Distributed production emphasises human influenced complex networks as well as planning and execution of processes in networks. Network properties or network abilities become crucial issues, while the available design approaches in production, mostly based on systems theories, have not been transferred into the domain of networks. The paper intends to contribute to the production systems theory's extension to the field of networks, motivated by mathematical systems theory and topology. Derived sets of models in total cover relevant aspects and/or sub-problems constituting model systems. The relations within the model systems link the different planning aspects and sub-problems for concurrent and distributed solution design, turning sequential procedures into planning processes, verifiable by VR planning.
