THIS quote comes from an extensive interview with Robert Lutz who was then the Vice Chairman of Chrysler Corporation. His career included executive positions in engineering and product development at BMW, Ford, Chrysler, and General Motors. At each of these organizations, Lutz made significant contributions to engineering management and made major advances in the design of not only new cars, but more importantly many successful new car designs Lutz was asked, how he would evaluate the average engineer's performance relative to making a significant contribution to the organization.
