The Alan O. Plait Award For Tutorial Excellence

This award is named for Alan O. Plait who instituted the Tutorials program in 1975 and managed, and guided it for the Symposium and encouraged its growth for 18 years. The award honors outstanding contributors to the Tutorials program. There are two types of awards: (1)Continued Excellence (for at least 5 years); (2) Best Tutorial (for a few previous years). The Symposium may present one or both awards in any year and each is accompanied by an honorarium.
