Application of fast multimodal ABCs in time domain analysis of electromagnetic waves in infinite shielded structures

In this paper, the application of fast multimodal ABCs for the time domain analysis of the electromagnetic waves in infinite three-dimensional shielded microwave structures is presented. The ABCs are used within a hybrid PEE-FDTD algorithm which combines a classical FDTD method with partial eigenfunction expansion (PEE) scheme. The WG-90 waveguide with a thick asymmetric inductive iris is analysed. The numerical results clearly exhibit the validity and efficiency of the presented algorithm.
