The impact of internet technology on creating new positions in Indonesia study case : Companies in Jakarta

Internet technology has changed many aspects in business these days, from new product and services development, to business process improvement such as online tender, mobile payment, online registration, and many others. As a result of those changes, companies need the right resources who understand on how to do business and compete in this new economy hence new competencies are hired. This research found many new positions have been created due to the changes, which do not exist in the past, or would sounds very strange 5 to 10 years ago. Positions such as social media specialist, mobile application developer or search engine optimization specialist are some of popular positions in Indonesia, especially in Jakarta. The research showed that internet has a positive impact on opening new jobs and creating new positions too in Indonesia.
