Bilateral Filter for Image Denoising

This paper presents implementation of Bilateral Filter for Image Denoising. This implementation can be used for computational photography applications. The bilateral filter is a non-linear method, with this method an image can be blurred, preserving strong edges. Blurring is one of the simplest ways to smooth an image. Each pixel value from output image is a weighted sum of its neighbors in the input image. The convolution by a kernel is the basic operation in linear shift-invariant image filtering is the important portion. The low-pass filtering is based on local average of intensities which is given by the output pixel position. Simulink modeling of bilateral filter is provided and it is also implemented in Matlab.
