Experimental Study on the Treatment of Ammunition Destroyed Wastewater by Electrolysis Combined with H2O2

Treatment of ammunition destroyed wastewater, which was wastewater of 2, 4, 6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) had been explored using the combined method of electrolysis and H₂O₂. This study focused on the removal efficiency of TNT under various operating conditions. Among the parameters which affect the treatment, attention was given to voltage, H₂O₂ concentration, Fe²⁺ concentration, pH and the reaction time. And the optimum operating conditions of the factors were obtained. After treatment, the removal rate of TNT reached 70%. In addition, the removal efficiencies of TNT by the combined method of electrolysis and H₂O₂ and Fenton method respectively were compared. The results showed that the removal rate of TNT of the combined method was much higher than that of Fenton method.
