Micro-theory methodology in critical incident analysis

Proposes an approach to cognitive modeling-micro-theory-in incident analysis. In this approach, cognitive modeling is viewed as a process of a series of abstraction from raw data, which are observable (such as physical activities and verbal communications), to statements with increasingly rich descriptions of cognitive activities in modular components of cues, decision situations, and choice processes. Examples of analysis of team activities during real trauma patient resuscitation are used to illustrate the micro-theory methodology.
