Robust active-reactive power control of a doubly-fed induction generator

In this paper a torque tracking and reactive-power regulating controller for doubly-fed induction generator is developed. This solution doesn't need stator current measurements and shows good robustness with respect to parameter uncertainties and measurement errors. Hence machine characterization is not critical and a standard position/velocity sensor (encoder) can be used. The Lyapunov-like method and back-stepping procedure are used to design the controller. A particular starting procedure has been developed in order to minimize initial transient after connection of the generator to the line grid.
