A Duct Based Experimental Setup for Active Noise Control

The design and development of a duct based experimental setup has been presented to investigate the active noise cancellation of narrowband as well as broadband scenario. The performance of Filtered-X Least Mean Square algorithm is investigated by utilizing feed-forward topology. Secondary and feedback path modeling is done by using system identification toolbox of MATLAB. The developed system has been tested and noise attenuation of 10 to 50 dB has been achieved. This experimentation has been done using several narrowband as well as broadband noises and the results agree with the work available in literature. Moreover, the performance related to noise reduction with and without using feedback neutralization has been compared.
