A control method for improving the power factor of fully controlled bridge connections

A control method will be presented, which can reduce the reactive power of fully con trolled thyristor bridge connections. The principles of the method will be described and the basic equations will be derived. The influence on the line side current and dc side current and voltage will be shown. Simulation results from an electric drive will be demonstrated and discussed.
