Simulation platform for robust control design using classical and evolutionary algorithms

In this paper, a simulation platform to design robust controllers for electrical power systems is presented. Low order controllers with output feedback, including performance and robustness requirements are considered. The design is carried out using mono and multiobjective functions. Classical and evolutionary optimization algorithms are used to solve the formulated problems. The simulation platform is applied to a small test system, in order to clarify its characteristics and comparisons are made with the optimization methods and the objective functions.
