Designing an automation framework to improve the performance of SIP based test suites in PBX feature testing

Private Branch Exchange system is the hardware that is used to controls the phone lines and exchanges calls between the internal phone extensions within a private network. The major benefit of the Private Branch Exchange system is the availability of the variety of features and it uses standard voice over internet protocols to work over the internet. There are more companies providing Private Branch Exchange system in the current market. Testing a software product is a necessary to deliver a good product before it comes to the market. Test automation is used to reduce spending more time in testing rather than focusing on other things. We have developed a new automated framework to test the Private Branch Exchange system features involving Session Initiation Protocol stations and provide multiple ready-to-use suites of several hundreds of test cases to reduce the developer's time spend in testing. we have focused on not only generating test cases for test automation but also to reduce a test execution time of test cases by running multiple execution of test cases at a time and providing rich user interface for the developer to test the Private Branch Exchange features. We are using proprietary tool to test the features of Private Branch Exchange system by verifying the talk path between two endpoints and providing scalability so that they can start to execute more than one feature at a time. We implemented this framework and got an improved performance by reducing execution time of overall testing.
