A 124mW, 70dB-DR PGA for low power audio application

In this paper a Programmable Gain Amplifier (PGA) for low power audio application is presented, which comprises bandgap reference, low drop-out voltage regulator (LDO), Common-Mode voltage generator, resistor array and operational transconductance amplifier (OTA). The PGA is implemented in SMIC 0.13µm 1P8M CMOS process. The measurement results show that in 1V power supply, 2.1KHZ input frequency and 200mVp-p output, the Dynamic Range (DR) is 70 dB, Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) is 63 dB, power consumption is 124uW, meets the low power, high resolution audio application requirement.
