Resonant Optical forces associated with whispering gallery modes in microparticles

Resonant scattering of radiation by particles implies a significant change of the incident electromagnetic momentum flow and, consequently, large forces on the particles. We study and compare the forces and their relation to the momentum of the incident free-space and guided waves in various geometries.
