The polution of heavy metals in sediments from Beng river

Regard the section of Beng River Bridge to E-Hunag road as the main research object, survey the three metals (Cd,Hg, Pb) in the river sediments.Potential ecological risk index and the geoaccumulation index (Igeo) were used to evaluate the ecological harm. The results showed that:The average content of heavy metals in sediments in the order of : Pb(21.06 mg·kg−1)>Hg(18.64 mg·kg−1)>Cr(2.51 mg·kg−1), which were both higher than the level of natural background values;the potential ecological risk index evaluation showed that the value of Eir for Hg of 3867.33 was the highest, and followed by Cd of 376.80 for the strongest pollution, and the average of Pb is 10.54 for minor ecological harm; the average of potential ecological risk pollution index was 4254.67, for the strongest ecological risk status; the geoaccumulation index (Igeo) showed that the heavy metals on the Beng River river pollution degree order as Hg (6.26)> Cd(2.73)> Pb (0.19).
