Transistor logic-memory module using high T/sub c/ superconducting core

The authors have found that oxide high transition temperature superconductor (YBCO and BSCCO: HTcSC for short) disk core shows nonlinear inductance characteristics at 77K due to the flux penetration phenomena. These HTcSC inductors operate at high frequency up to at least 100 MHz because of small energy losses. Utilizing these nonlinear inductance characteristics of HTcSC cores, we have constructed various high frequency magnetic devices. In this paper, a transistor logic memory module based on the Royer oscillator type magnetic multivibrator is presented, in which a HTcSC thin disk core having six coils tightly set around it is connected with two switching transistors.
