Surface Magnetoplasmon-polariton Solitons On Semiconductors: Voigt Geometry

Nonlinear optical phenomena associated with surfaces or interfaces have attracted considerable attention recently. ¹ Here we will investigate the effect of weak nonlinearity on surface magneto plasmon-polariton (SMP). Specifically, we study the possible formation of SMP solitons on a n-type semiconductor surface in Voigt geometry. ² The SMP soliton is a pulse envelope wave that has the nature of stationary wave propagation in the direction parallel to the surface. We will derive the evolution equation³ for this pulse envelope wave and examine its existence condition.³
