Auto-design simulation set up of PV VSC with grid supporting functions

In this paper, a complete simulation set up with auto-design capability is provided with a three-phase Voltage Source Converter (VSC) for grid connection of a photovoltaic (PV) system. In addition to conventional control functions (current control, DC bus control and MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracker), PLL, etc.) the more recent grid-supporting functions such as reactive power-voltage control, power-frequency primary regulation and synthetic inertia have been implemented. Thanks to the static and dynamic models and the derived design equations, just some new specifications collected in a simple text file are required to run a ready-to-use simulation. The behavior of the whole system and blocks interaction are shown efficiently through these simulations remarking the potential conflicts between block controls.
