Analysing the Need and Effect of Speckle Filtering in SAR Image based Flood Application Models

This paper in initial stage explains SAR image based flood area mapping method that supports deriving the critical flood information without using the speckle filtering technique. Subsequently, by fine tuning the proposed technique a speckle filtered based second method of approach has been derived. At the end, the backscattering values of the results of the both the methods were extracted and been compared. The advantages of adopting the non-speckle based method of approach has been brought out.
