Material Selection of LTCC Based Microstrip Patch Antenna Substrate Using Ashby's Approach

In this paper, different possible low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) materials for micro strip patch antenna substrates and their properties like, permittivity, dielectric loss, quality factor (Q-factor), temperature coefficient of the resonant frequency are taken into consideration and Ashby's approach is applied and based on the performance indices and material indices, material selection chart is plotted. The selection chart shows that Dupont-951 is the best material for substrate application out of all possible candidates.
