Self-optimizing control parameters for minimizing ping-pong handover in Long Term Evolution (LTE)

This paper presents a new self-optimizing ping-pong handover (HOPP) control mechanism for Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks. The proposed mechanism tunes the handover (HO) parameters Hysteresis and Time-To-Trigger (TTT) based on a predefined policy that aims to reduce the negative impact caused by HOPP.
