Single Optical Pulse Measurement Based on Electro-Optic Sampling

A single optical pulse measurement has been investigated by an electro-optic sampilng technique. A traveling wave Pockels cell driven by an ultrafast photoconductive switch was employed as a sampler. An optical pulse compression system following a pulsed YAG laser was used as the probe pulse. This technique has a temporal resolution of waveform of the order of 14 ps.
