Automatic behavioural therapy tool for children with Asperger's syndrome - Paradigm

The purpose of this paper is to present an original approach to research on emotion recognition using a multimodal input. Additionally, a paradigm of creating a therapeutic tool for behavioural rehabilitation is presented. The research material should consist of audio, video and EEG signals, as well as point cloud data extracted from a 3d sensor. It should be collected from a group of children with diagnosed Asperger's syndrome (AS), as well as a control group of normally developed children. AS differs from other autism spectrum disorders by its relative preservation of linguistic and cognitive development. Considering this fact, it is assumed that an interactive game, reacting to emotional state of a player, can be utilized as a therapeutic tool for behavioural rehabilitation for children with Asperger's syndrome.
