Rover's approach to the control of dimensional variation

In order to understand how Rover approach this subject today, it's necessary to appreciate how Rover has emerged as the company it is today, from the myriad of different companies and from its associations with others, i.e. Honda, British Aerospace and more recently how it has become influenced by its new owners, BMW. The author also looks at the role of dimensional specification management in product development.
