Performance analysis of on-body backscatter RFID systems

In this contribution, I introduce a novel analysis method to investigate the performance of backscatter RFID systems in terms of their power efficiency. Additionally, the performance of an on-body backscatter RFID system is investigated at 900 MHz. The investigation is based on on-body channel measurements and thus benefits a thorough examination of the backscatter RFID system. The analysis identifies performance limitations and ultimately helps to realize a reliable backscatter communication system.
