Estimation of airspeed based on acoustic vector sensor array

The airspeed measurement problem based on a vector sensor array is researched in this paper. According to the propagation principle of acoustic wave in air, the measurement model of wave's particle velocity based on an acoustic vector array is set. Then a direct airspeed estimation algorithm is proposed. The proposed algorithm does not need matrix decomposition and has a good real-time performance. Finally, the suppression of perturbation is analyzed. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
