Radiation properties of non-uniform array antennas

Some general features of the radiation properties of non-uniform array antennas are discussed with the aim to develop the needed insight in their operation. The discussion employs a realistic non-uniform array for developing concepts with a high degree of generality. The theoretical results are supported by illustrative numerical experiments. The presented aspects, together with their derivation, have the potential of being employed in antenna engineering education.
