Portfolios offer faculties an individualized approach to performance evaluation for achievements, such as promotion and tenure, and ongoing processes, such as teaching and service. This paper explores assessment challenges for portfolios related to tenure and promotion, examining such issues as criteria development, evaluation concerns and the actual review.
